A small private airplane came in low and scraped onto the runway at St. Pete–Clearwater International Airport yesterday afternoon, landing without its landing gear deployed in what pilots call a belly landing.

"The only runway at Phuket Airport is closed after a landing incident involving Air India Express flight #IX938 (Boeing 737 MAX 8 with registration VT-BWQ). The aircraft landed at 04:24 UTC and pictures in social media show the aircraft on the runway with it's front landing gear damaged."

The Air India Express aircraft made a hard landing at Phuket International Airport in Thailand.

In the press statement issued on Saturday (March 21), the aviation regulator said the aircraft, registration 5Y-BXI, was operating a scheduled flight from Kisumu to the Nairobi airport when the incident occurred at approximately 9:25 pm (local time) on Friday (March 20).
