The league announced the 73 prospects who received invitations to the 2026 NBA Draft Combine in Chicago, which should provide plenty of helpful data.

Yahoo Sports' Kevin O'Connor is shaking up what is generally considered the consensus top three 2026 NBA draft picks in his latest mock.

The latest NBA Mock Draft from Yahoo Sports’ Kevin O’Connor not only has Malachi Moreno going in the first round, but even ahead of Jayden Quaintance. Yes, this projection has Moreno going 24th overall to the New York Knicks, while Quaintance goes 29th to the Cleveland Cavaliers, nearly falling out of the first round altogether.

At the bottom of the first round, the draft has slimmed down considerably. There were only 71 early entrants, the fewest since 2003 and down from 363 in 2021, in an illuminating development signaling just how much money there is to be made at the college ranks.

With the draft lottery just around the corner, the first round is becoming much clearer. Several high-profile picks have elected to go back to school, including Patrick Ngongba, Braylon Mullins, Thomas Haugh, and Motiejus Krivas. That has thinned out the back of the first round, but this is still set up to be a generational draft.
