The first flight over Mount Everest took place on 3 April 1933 and we are lucky enough to have some footage of it right here. The flight lasted for 3 hours and 10 minutes reaching a corrected altitude of 30,000 feet. It was carried out by two specially prepared aircraft: a Houston Westland PV3 G-ACAZ piloted by the Marquis of Douglas & Clydesdale with Colonel LVS Blacker as cameraman, and a Westland Wallace G-ACBR, piloted by Flt Lt David F McIntyre with SR Bonnett as cameraman.
