Ground cover I often get asked what I’ve got on the ground of my chicken run and the answer is hard wood chips! I do a thick base of about 6 inches deep and the last lot lasted for just over a year Last weekend I then dug out all the old wood chip and I have replaced it It took two 500 L bags to cover my run floor and an awful lot of hard work! My garden is on a steep slope over several levels and so I cannot get the wood chips down with a wheelbarrow and so I had to carry it all bucket by bucke
