Recently bought a 1920's house. Detached garage had a hole in the floor covered in old boards. Thought is was a sump or maybe a grease pit. I was having some moisture issues, so I decided to pop it open and see what's down there. Six inches beneath the boards, a piece of very rusted steel. Was covered in dust, but I cleaned it off before taking the photo. Pop that out to find this hole. Hard to see in the photo, but it is probably ~6' deep from the top of the garage floor. The hole is about 5'x5
